Need to graph linear equation of rabbit and turtle race

Need to graph linear equation of rabbit travels at 35 mph for 2.86 miles. Turtle travels at .7 miles at 22mph through water and .3 miles at 6mph. Both end up at the finish line at the same time.

distance/rate = time

 

Rabbit:   2.86/35 hr = 286/3500 hr = 143/1750 hr =  143*60/1750 min = 8580/1750 min = 858/175 min or

just over 4 min 54 sec

 

Turtle swims:  0.7 / 22 hr  = 70/220 hr = 7/22 hr

Turtle On Land: 0.3/ 6 hr = 3/60 = 1/20 hr

Total time for the turtle is 7/22 + 1/20  hr = 140/440 + 22/440 hr = 162/440 hr = 81/220 hr = 81*60/220 min

               = 4860/220 min = 486/22 min = 243/11 min = 22 and 9/11 min

                   or just under 22 minutes and 5 sec

 

The turtle had   17 min 11 sec head start

 

That's 17 and 11/60 min = 0.28638 hr which when multiplied by the rabbit's speed, is just over 10 miles
