C. Is not true of name signs. You cannot give yourself a name sign. it must be given to you by a Deaf person, otherwise it is not considered a true name sign. I would also like to point out that the person does not need to be a “prominent member” as B states. The person giving the name sign just needs to be a member of the Deaf community.
