David has 122 yards of fencing to enclose a rectangular region. What is the maximum​ area

Let x = length of the fence, then (122-2x)/2 = width (total length - 2 times the length / 2 for t sides
 
Area = l x w
 
x (61-x) = 61x-x2  and find the vertex of the parabola which will be the maximum area
 
x = -b/2a = 61/2  =30.5 ft
