fire doors in hospital wards opening direction

Question

I am designing a hospital that has an emergency staircase at the end of every ward. the ward doors should be 120min fire rated , what would be the opening direction of the doors ? towards the ward or towards the reception/lobby area. 

What is the fire is next to the emergency staircase ? should the doors open in both direction ? would they be 120min if they open in both directions? and is it as per NFPA ?

One can imagine that opening outward, into the stairwell, would be best for persons fleeing a fire.

As for NFPA, you should consult that organization/regulation in order to be sure that you have an authoritative answer.
