First of all there is 4% missing in the original stats:  11 + 18 + 16 + 21 + 15 + 15 = 96 so 4% fall into a MISCellaneous cateogry

 

Engineers and designers comprise 18+16 = 34% of the sample.

 

So 34% of 10500 = 3570

 

Moreover, there are 18% of 10500 = 1890 engineers, so there must be 3570 - 1890 = 1680 designers.

 

Of those, 60% of the engineers are female, so 60% of 1890 = 1134, which leaves 1890 - 1134 = 756 male engineers.

Of the designers, 35% of them are female, s0 35% of 1680 = 588, which leaves 1680 - 588 = 1062 male designers.

 

So the ratio of interest is (756+1062)/(1134 + 588) = 1818/1722 = 909/861 = 303/287= 1.05575 to 1
