Solve -5y +8 = -3y +10

I need to solve for y but having issues remembering what the steps are..
This is one equation with one unknown . The unknown is y
simply rearrange by adding +5y on both sides,
+5y-5y+8=-3y+5y+10, 8=2y+10 now add -10 to both sides of the equation
-10+8=2y+10-10, -2=2y divide both sides by -2
(-2/-2)=(2y/-2), 1=-y, or y=-1
Check by substituting y =-1 in the original equation
-5y +8 = -3y +10, -5(-1)+8 = -3(-1) +10, 5+8=3+10, 13=13 checks
y=-1 is the final answer
