Any help is welcome

The lift moves down at a speed of 3.0 m/s and brakes evenly so that the elevator stops 2 seconds after the braking. The mass of the lift is 850kg. How much force the elevator's rope affect the elevator during braking?

Thank you very much for help. Is the Newton 2 law affecting this situation? And if the elevator brakes evenly, is this affecting to the acceleration to become zero?

This is a 2nd law situation.  That is why I started by writing

F = ma.

The even braking of the elevator means both the force and the acceleration are constant over the time it takes to bring the speed down to zero.

And you are welcome, Thomas.
