An ordinary workshop grindstone has a radius of 7.50 cm and rotates at 7500 rev/min. A.) Calculate the magnitude of the centripetal acceleration at its edge in meters per second squared and convert it to multiples of g. B.) An ordinary workshop grindstone has a radius of 7.50 cm and rotates at 7500 rev/min. What is the linear speed in m/s of a point on its edge (in m/s)?

(A)
ac = rω2 = (0.0750 m) [2π(7500)/(60 s)]2 = ? m/s2
In terms of g's,
ac/g = ac/(9.8 m/s2)
Just plug in the result for ac and divide by 9.8 m/s2.
(B)
v = rω
r = 0.0750 m
ω = 2π(7500)/(60 s)
v = (0.0750 m) [2π(7500)/(60 s)] = ? m/s
