in a candy shop chocolate sells for $4 a pound is mixed with nuts which is sold for $2.50 a pound are mixed to form a chocolate-nut candy which sells for $3.50

I rally need help with this question. It is due tomorrow and my teacher did not explain it very well to me

Two variables require two equations to solve.  There is one here.  If x = lbs. of chocolate and y = lbs of nuts, then
4x + 2.5 y = 3.5 (x + y)
You must have left some information out when you wrote down the problem.  What else do you know?
