L = w+3
Lw = 180
 
(w+3)w = 180
w2 + 3w = 180
w2 + 3w - 180 = 0
From quadratic equation we have:
w = [-3 ±√(32-4(-180))]/2
w = (-3 ± 27)/2
 
disregarding the negative, 
w = 24/2 = 12
L = w+3 = 15
 
15 feet by 12 feet
