Student,
Taking the first part of the question as worded literally, you get
y = kxn,
where k is a proportionality constant. You ask for n.
log(y) = log(k) + n log(x)
n = [log(y) - log(k)]/log(x)
n = log(y/k) / log(x)
Is this what you really meant to ask for?
The second part seems unrelated, like a leftover from a cut-and-paste. Edit the problem statement, or delete this question, and post a new one with proper information. Then a math tutor will be able to help you.
