My suggestion is to review the questions before reading or taking notes. Then, you can skim the text to see if any of the answers to those questions stand out. That way, when you begin reading and notetaking, you will have an idea of what information the authors of the text consider most important. In addition, before you actively immerse yourself in the text, I suggest looking at all the titles, headings, and subheadings. This, too, will give you an idea of the main ideas covered in the text selection.
