3.  Note:  c+a= total number of tickets.     Total=163

                                                                       5.30c +8.90a=1094.30

 

5.  Eliminate one of the variables by solving for "c." Use the first equation.   c=163-a

 

6.  Now, substitute c=163-a into the second equation.

 

7.  Simplify and solve for "a," and you are done.
