Mélanie rents some video games from her local video store. It costs her $3 a day for the first day, and $2 each additional day

Use a graph to express the relation between the amount that Mélanie has to pay to rent a game and the number of additional days she keeps it.

Cost = 2(d-1) + 3    because the $2d does not appear on day 1

Cost = 2d - 2 + 3

Cost = 2d + 1

 

Label the x-axis as d for days

Label the y-axis as cost in $

 

Plot a couple of points for the line:
