With respect, √3 cannot be computed. The only accurate presentation is √3.
How about √3 < n < 3 ⇒ √3 < n < √9.
Then n could be √4, or 2 (and also a lot of others!)

z = ½(3+√3) is between the two numbers within the parentheses, and is irrational.
 
In deference go Mark, change the word COMPUTE in my answer to WRITE.
 
If you want to know about what that equals, go ahead and compute.
