I’m guessing there’s a typo, I think the denominator should be
x^5y^-3
how to simplify:
First, since the whole fraction is squared, I would start by squaring the numerator and squaring the denominator.
since you’re asked to express only in positive exponents, when you find a negative exponent, move it To the opposite part of the fraction line. In other words, if you have a negative exponent in the denominator, move it to numerator and make it positive. On the other hand, if a negative exponent in numerator, move it and change sign to the denominator.
finally, if there are exponents of x both above and below, then subtract the smaller exponent from both top and bottom. (Example: if you had x^3/x^2, you should 2 from both exponents, yielding x^1:x^0 which is x/1 or just x.)
do do the same for exponents if y.
