After a 20% reduction, the price of a computer was $800. What was the price of the computer before the reduction?

I keep trying to figure out this question. At first, I forgot how to figure out problems like these. I did questions like these last year in my advanced my class. (I was in 7th grade, now I'm in 8th.) It's the beginning of the school year and I forget how to do these problems. I'm using proportions but I feel like I keep getting the wrong answer. I set up the proportion 800/x=80/100 but I keep getting 8000 and that's not right, or at least I don't think. I think the proportion is wrong but I don't know what to change it to! I feel kinda dumb for not remembering this. I'm in an advanced class and I feel like everyone remembers but me. I don't want to get kicked out or anything. I can't remember a lot of things from last year!!

Always cross multiply in this case so you won't get confused

800 x 100 = 80 x X

80000 = 80 x X

80000/80 = X

1000 = X
