This is a very basic "Solve for a Variable" question.
Take each equation and solve for X respectively
X - 6 = 6
Add 6 to both sides to isolate X
X - 6 = 6
+6 +6
X = 12
Solve the second equation to verify its solution
4 = X - 6
Rearrange, if necessary, to have the variable on the left side of equation (This step is not mandatory, but it does help with beginner's algebra to have the variable on the left side)
4 = X - 6 ---> X - 6 = 4
Solve for X
X - 6 = 4
+ 6 +6
X = 10
X-6=6 Yields X = 12
4=X-6 Yields X = 10
Therefore the first equation is the expression in which X = 12
