the slope in this form is the coefficient on the "x" term, so it ends up just being m = -32 in this situation

Two points determine a line.
Often, the y-intercept (the place where x=0) and the x-intercept (the place where y=0) are "convenient points."
For this equation:
y = −32x + 4
These are two "convenient points":
(0,4)
(1,-28) [1 is often very useful, also]
Connect these two points and keep on going in both directions. Note that the slope, "rise over run", is -32/1.

You have an equation of the form
y = mx + b
m = slope = -32
