After factoring out the 2 to get
2(x2 + 18x + 45)
Look for factors of the constant, +45, that add to the coefficient of the x term, +18.
Those factors are 15 and 3:  15(3) = 45, 15+3 = 18

x2 + 18x + 45 = (x+3)(x+ 15)

So:  2x2 + 36x + 90 = 2(x+3)(x+15)
