density and specific gravity

The density of a 4.0 cubic centimeter sample of a metal is 11.3 grams/cubic centimeter. What is the specific gravity of an 8.0 cubic centimeter sample of the same metal?

Specific gravity is the ratio of the density of the material to that of water at 4 degrees C.  Densit is an intensive property so the density of an 8.0 cubic cm sample is the same as that of a 4.0 cubic cm sample of the same sample or in this case itvis 11.3 g/cm³. 

The specific gravity would be 11.3g/cm3 / .999974g/cm3 ~ 11.3
