THe function f(x) is not clear. It is either f(x) = x+3 or f(x) = x*x+3 = x^2 + 3.
Assuming the former,
f - g is x+3 - (4x - 2) = x +3 - 4x + 2 = -3x + 5
Assuming the latter,
x^2 + 3 - (4x -2) = x^2 +3 - 4x + 2 = x^2 - 4x + 5
