What is the probability of picking of two green balls ?

Jon has 2 bags of balls.  The first bag contains 12 green balls and 24 blue balls. The second bag contains 1 green ball and 4 red balls.  If Jon randomly selects a single ball  from each of the bags, what is the probability he picks the two green balls ?

There are 36 balls in the first bag and 5 balls in the second bag.

 

P(Green in first bag) = 12/36 = 1/3

 

P(Green in second bag) = 1/5

 

P(Green AND Green) = (1/3)(1/5) = 1/15

 

Remember that AND means multiply
