When you have a straight vertical line, the slope is essentially infinite. Instead of the standard slope-intercept formula where you're solving for y, you're answering for x instead (because EVERY y is possible). Instead of:
y = mx + b, you have:
x = C, where C is the constant.
Here are some examples by using points to help you visualize:
(0, 5) (15, 5), (80, 5) (675421091, 5) (-64, 5) (-64913, 5)
No matter what you put in for the y value, the x is always going to be the same. (Or if you want to think of solving for y, y equals any and every possible number, but x never changes.)
