Well, apparently the cake is square (its base or 'footprint') is 100 square inches.
Cutting it into 4 equal pieces can be done in a variety of ways (e.g. by bisecting two consecutive sides) or by making three slices parallel to one side.
The first method (two cuts) produces four pieces each of which has base area 5" by 5"; the second method can produce four slices each of which has width 2.5" and length 10" (feasible, but unwieldy due to the great length).
