Which statistical tests to use

I'm a novice when it comes to statistics.  I need to know what tests to use: 

 

I plan on testing about 120 or less students that are taught using two learning methods and I'm trying to see if there is a significant difference in the students that favor method 1 over method 2.  What type of test would be appropriate and would I use this test in a pilot pre-test or another test?  I planned on using Likert style questionnaire for analysis of the data, is this appropriate for the specific test I would use?

In principle, you can use any statistical test, to verify id there is a significant difference between the two methods. To some extent it depends on what significant level you chose and how the test is sensitive to the sample size. I  suggest the best in case would be Kolmogorov's statistic test or similar. You can use well known t-test as well. 

 

You can try both tests and even in addition some other tests, as well, and then it would be nice to compare  results.
