Could someone please explain to me the meaning of this quotation "What is the meaning of the togetherness of the perceiving mind, in that peculiar modification of perceiving which makes it perceive not a star but a tree, and the tree itself, is a problem for philosophy". Thank you

The knowledge and the reality of what we see is very unique and distinctive for each person.  We create our own truth and reality based on how we interpret what we see in our minds.  Our perception and our point of view of life and living is influenced and affected by the memory schema we construct right from the time we are born and in our daily journey of life.
