Need help trying to solve this problem cause I just don't understand

This question must be about a good NBA team so we know it's not about Phoenix Suns.

 

This is easy.  Of the 66 games, set aside 26 of them as EXCESS GAMES THAT THEY WON. That leaves 40 games, and split these evenly, 20 W, 20 L.

 

So the total # of Ws is 46, and the total of Ls is 20.

 

Without Algebra! (Not that Algebra is bad.)
