When we're asked what if one-fifth OF 300, it means what number, multiplied 5 times, gives us 300? So quite simple we multiply one-fifth by 300. How do we do that? Look at it this way: (1/5) * (300/1). When you write this in fraction form on a piece of paper, you just multiply straight across so we get (1*300) divided by (5*1) which equals (300/5) which is just 60. And guess what? If we multiply 60 by 5, we get 300 just like we stated at the beginning. Hope that this made a light bulb go off! ;)
