Hi Saurav,
The trigonometric function y = tan(x) has no maximum value. Remember that tan(x) = sin(x)/cos(x). As x approaches π/2, cos(x) approaches zero, i.e. gets smaller, and sin(x) approaches 1. Then, tan(x) = sin(x)/cos(x) gets larger and larger, as the denominator is decreasing. Think of the equation y = 1/x. as x approaches zero from the left, the graph tends towards infinity. If you are unsure of what the graph looks like, input it into a calculator or look it up online.
