The difference between the roots of the equation 2x^2−5x+c=0 is .25. Find c.

PLease help me!

The roots of (2x+r+0.25)(x-r) = 0 are (-r-0.25)/2 and r.  If you subtract the roots (in either order), you don't get 1/4.

Since the middle term is negative one of the factors of c must be negative. 
99/32 is not negative.

Couldn't both factors of "c" be negative and still have a negative middle term?
 
For example x2 - 7x + 12 = (x-3)(x-4)     c = 12 = (-3)(-4)
