If +/- 4million is the error, what is the total error?

This is for calculating the total age of a rock in biology class.

Andrew M.

The total possible error is still just 4,000,000 whether that is
on the younger or older side is immaterial.

The range of the possible age of the rock covers  8,000,000 years.
Example:  A rock 2,400,000,000 years old has a possible range of age from
2,000,000,000 to 2,800,000,000 years
