A bluegrass festival, although opera and ballet are popular with a certain populace and blue grass is not. So the question is poorly phrased.
In general (that means be careful) opera and ballet music was written in the 18th and 19th C and are European. Bluegrass came from Appalachia and is based on English and Scottish popular traditions (I guess this is why "popular" was used in the question).
