points (5,12) and (4,10)
first find the slope
slope=(y1-y2)/(x1-x2) (the rise over the run; rise/run)
slope=(12-10)/5-4)
slope=2/1, or 2
y=mx+b is the slope-intercept form of a line where m=slope and b=y-intercept
y=2x+b
using one of the points...
using (4,10)
10=2*4+b
10-8=b
b=2
if you used (5,12)...
12=2*5+b
12-10=b
b=2
y=2x+2
standard form of the equation of a line is Ax+By=C
-2x+y=2
multiply all terms by -1
2x-y=-2 where A=2, B=-1, and C=-2
2x-y=-2 is the answer
