Mrs. Gibson has $1520 to spend on sandwiches for a class reunion picnic. She has chosen 3 kinds of
sandwiches: turkey, veggie, and roast beef. The turkey sandwiches cost $5.80 each. The veggie
sandwiches cost $4.20 each. She is able to buy 100 of each kind of sandwich. What is the most a roast
beef sandwich might cost?

Answer 1

5.80(100) + 4.20(100) + x(100) = 1520

                    580 + 420 + 100x  = 1520

                             1000 + 100x = 1520

                                         100x = 520

                                              x = 5.20

So, at most, each sandwich can cost $5.20.
