If a jar is 22 inches tall by 16 inches wide and the circumference is 60 inches. The corks are 1.75 in length. How many corks will be in the jar?

At your kid's age, I hated math, too. Not any more!
You'd need to know not just the lengths of the corks but also their diameter (or radius or circumference) in order to figure out how much space they'd take up. (Volume)
