1. 5(x-2) = 2x + 5 1. Given
2. 5x - 10 = 2x + 5 2. Distributive Property
3. 5x = 2x + 15 3. Addition Property
4. 3x = 15 4. Subtraction Property

5x - 10 = 2x + 5 distribute
3x - 10 = 5 subtgract 2x from both sides
3x = 15 add 10 to both sides
x = 5 divide both sides by 3
