Since you have two points, you may use an equation that I derived myself. I call it the Two-Point Form for the equation or a line.
(y - y1)/(x - x1) = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) x1 = 4, y1= 1, x2 = -3, y2 = 0
(y - 1)/(x - 4) = (0 - 1)/(-3 - 4)
(y - 1)/(x - 4) = -1/-7 Now, cross multiply.
-7(y - 1) = -1((x - 4)
-7y + 7 = - x + 4
-7y = - x - 3
y = (1/7)x + 3/7
