volume of cude for the side 0.08m and 8cm

if the side of a cude is 8cm then its volume is equal to 512cm and also same with 5.12m but when convert it to 0.08m of the side of the cude  then the volume  is equal to 0.000512m eventhough 0.08m=8cm. as 0.000512m is not equal to 512cm.

Volume has units of length to the 3rd power.  You are not correctly cubing the units.

 

V = (8 cm)³ = (0.08 m)³ = 0.08³ m³ = 0.000512 m³

 

1 m = 100 cm

1 m³ = (100 cm)³ = 100³ cm³ = 1,000,000 cm³

 

Therefore,

 

V = (0.000512) (1,000,000 cm³) = 512 cm³

 

Both give the same volume.  You have to remember to cube the units just like you would cube a number.
