How to fix error loading operating system?

Question

I accidently unplugged data source cable from internal hard disk from my pc windows 7 OS. When i plugged and switched it on, it showed " bootable device has not been detected" so i restarted . When started again, it showed " error loading operating system". Now i don't know how to fix this problem. Will i lose all my contents? Can i recover back my datas? If i reinstall OS can i get back my datas? please anyone help me.

You need to begin by shutting the computer down.  Then, making certain that you're properly grounded from static electricity, you will want to make certain that the data cable is properly and fully attached to the hard drive.  Afterwards, you may turn your computer back on.  All of your data should be there.
