Operate on the middle part of this 3-part "conjunction" inequality--because x is in there.
Choose operations to isolate x, and whatever you do, do it to all three parts, preserving the integrity of the inequality.
Step1: multiply all three parts by two, to kill off the ½
Step2: divide by four, so that you will now have x+4 alone in the middle part (remember to treat left & right parts
identically)
Step3: subtract 4 from all three parts.
You now have x 'trapped' between two numbers. Tha's the solution!
