A neighborhood carnival has a Ferris wheel with a diameter of 60 feet. You measure the time it takes for one revolution to be 70 seconds. What is the angular speed in radians per second? What is the linear speed in feet per second? Leave your answer in terms of pi.

ω = 2π/T = (2π radians) / (70 sec) = (1/35)π rad/sec

 

v = rω = (d/2)ω = (60/2 ft)[(1/35)π rad/sec] = (6/7)π ft/sec
