a stone drop from a bridge, it takes .25 second to pass 9ft mast of boat, how ar is the bridge from the the top of the mast

Do you mean it takes 0.25 s to reach the top of the mast or the bottom of the mast? If you mean the top of the mast, then
Δy = (1/2)gt2 = (1/2)(32)(0.25)2 ft = ?

If you mean it takes 0.25 s to reach the bottom of the mast, then
 
Δy + (9 ft) = (1/2)gt2 = (1/2)(32)(0.25)2 ft
 
Solve for Δy.

But this second case is unrealistic as Δy would come out negative.
