If the shop opens 25 days in a month, 8 hours a day, what is the total cost in a month?

y = 280x + 3500

 

y-intercept (set x = 0)    y = 280(0) + 3500  = $3500

 

    The y-intercept represents the fixed costs (rent, etc)

 

(25 days)(8 hr/day) = 200 hours

 

    Total cost for the month = 280(200) + 3500 = $59,500
