Slope intercept form is probably the most commonly used expression for lines. The equation is y=mx+b where m=slope and b= y-intercept. 

 

Therefore, using the given slope, so far we have y=-2/5x+b. To find b, we need to first plug in x and y. As we've been given (-5,7), we can use these points to plug into our equation:

 

7=-2/5(-5) + b

7 = 2 + b

b = 5

 

Plug everything in together and you get y = -2/5x + 5!
