Hi Brian - since the ratio is 8:1, the actual numbers could be 16:2, 24:3, etc...so the formula would is 8x : 1x
So, the difference between the child and adult tickets is 7x
We are told that the difference is 147 so we can say that 7x = 147
Solving for x, we get x = 21
So the actual numbers are 8*21 : 1*21, which are 168 child tickets and 21 adult tickets
