Call the consecutive integers x and x + 1.

 

X + x + 1 = 19.

 

2x + 1 = 19.

 

Subtract 1 from each side, leaving

 

2x = 18

 

Divide by 2, leaving

 

X = 9

X + 1 = 10

9 + 10 = 19  √
