One  way to solve this is to set it up as fractions.  The word problem is asking what is 1/3 of 21?  Set as fractions, it would read 1/3 of 21/1.  Remember in math, the word of means times or x.   So 1/3 x 21/1 = ?  Multiply numerators and denominator, then divide top from bottom.  21/3 = 7.  So far the drive is 7 miles.  Hope this helps, Robby
