Hi Meira, I am not sure where the parenthesis belong. I am using the following formation:
f(x) = sqrt(x + 2) + 3
If this is incorrect, you can still follow the same steps.
I want to plot four points. Let x = 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Substitute for x each of the four values, which results in four values for f(x).
The value of sqrt(x + 2) is zero when x = -2. This is the left most point.
x = -2, f(x) = sqrt(-2 + 2) + 3, f(x) = 3
x = 0, f(x) = sqrt(0 + 2) + 3, f(x) = 4.14
x = 3, f(x) = sqrt(3 + 2) + 3, f(x) = 5.24
x = 4, f(x) = sqrt(4 + 2) + 3, f(x) = 5.45
