variance=0.0286677..for a sample of 10
mean=1.237 for either population or sample
Take the 10 numbers, sum them, then divide by 10 to get the mean.
sum the squared differences of each value minus the mean. Then divide by 10 or by 9
defending on whether the 10 values are from a population of 10 or a sample of 10
